E-BUSINESS AND DIGITAL MARKETING: IS THE GOVERNMENT AWAKENING TOO LATE ... AND WITH TOO LITTLE MONEY?
On March 19, the Quebec government announced $ 4.63 million
in financial assistance to accompany 1325 Quebec retailers in their digital
shift. It is therefore an offer of $ 3,494.34 per retailer to implement
accompanying strategies or to implement strategies of inter-company marketing
workshops to maximize the benefits of investments made in e-commerce.
Some will say it's a lot. For others, and I am part of it,
it is too little.
Let me put it in context: Quebec retailers are currently
facing several large competitors who are selling their goods all over the
world, including here. Without naming them all, let's take the classic example
of Amazon, a giant in online sales that in the last quarter of 2016 sold $ 43
billion online, a 22% jump from the same quarter of 2015 .
